A Statement from Bouchercon
Bouchercon has received a formal complaint from a member about an incident of harassment at the Hyatt Reunion Hotel during our Dallas event. That member has asked us for confidentiality as we investigate this event. We take every complaint of harassment seriously, treating the victim with respect, and honoring the confidentiality and privacy requested by the complainant. We have an anti- harassment policy which condemns any form of harassment. We are currently reviewing the policy to ensure it contains appropriate reporting procedures, actionable steps, and transparency. We expect and strive for every Bouchercon event to be a safe space for our members, attendees, vendors and guests.
“Fill a hotel with few thousand socially-challenged introverts, folks for whom the ‘I’d rather be reading’ T-shirt was created, and force them to spend a long autumn weekend together, and what have you got? Bouchercon—and you’d be a fool to miss it.”
Bouchercon is what you want it to be. It’s the annual meetup for readers and writers of crime fiction, where fans and industry professionals mix and mingle. Attendees love the genre, from cozy and hardboiled to thriller and paranormal. I come knowing I’ll see long-time friends and make new ones.

I’ve enjoyed attending the Bouchercons over the years as it’s not only a chance to connect personally with mystery readers, but you get to talk shop with like-minded writers, some you only get to see at such gatherings.
“Love contemporary mysteries? You can meet your whole bookshelf at Bouchercon. They’ll even let you buy them a drink.”
